Maryellen Book Plots

On Amazon, the Maryellen Book Series is up, and can be previewed. Amazon gives readers' the plot of each book, and the opportunity to look inside and read some of the pages. These pages give the answers to the many questions and theories eager fans have been thinking about for the past few months.

Plot of the One and Only (From Back of Book)

"Maryellen wants to stand out, but with five brothers and sisters, it's not so easy. Giving herself a haircut doesn't go quite the way she expectsand when she draws a cartoon of her teacher on the first day of fourth grade, she draws more attention than she wants! At least her drawing skills help her make an interesting new friend. Together they might be able to win the geography beebut only if Maryellen can find a way to make her old friends overcome their prejudice. The One and Only, the first volume of the Maryellen's stories about growing up in the 1950s, tells how Maryellen learns to standout and be her own person."

Taking Off: A Maryellen Classic 2

Plot of Taking Off (From Back of Book)

"Maryellen has big plans for her birthday, and she's glad when her old pal Davy shows up to help. If only Wayne the Pain would buzz offbut he's stuck to Davy like glue. Maybe her sister Joan was right when she said girls can't be friends with boys in fourth grade. Then, on a family vacation, Maryellen finds out that Joan's not so sure about her own plans. One thing's clear: If Maryellen's going to invent a flying machine, become famous, and get Joan's wedding off the ground, she'll need all the helpand all the friendsshe can get. In Taking Off, the second volume of Maryellen's classic stories about growing up in the 1950s, Maryellen's hopes, dreams, and ambitions soarand she's determined that nothing will stop her from flying high."

Look out for Maryellen!

American Girl nowadays has been using their Pinterest a lot. On their Pinterest they share recipes, crafts, and of course sneek peeks! I checked their Pinterest today and noticed that they created a board to post sneek peeks of the upcoming historical doll Maryellen. I will keep my eyes out for any posts there, and so should you!

Here is a link to go to the AG Pinteresthttps://www.pinterest.com/agofficial/

Here is a link specific to Maryellen's page: https://www.pinterest.com/agofficial/maryellen-larkin/

You can see Maryellen's board on the American Girl Pinterest below.

Here is what Maryellen's board looks like when you are on it. The board is quite empty now, but soon AG will start posting different sneek peek images of her collection.

AG Announces Maryellen!

The rumors about a new 1950's historical doll are true. American Girl officially announced that Maryellen Larkin will be released in August.

There have been many leaks of this darling dolly; whom will have strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes, and cute bangs. The picture American Girl posted looks exactly like the leaks, except a different meet outfit. This picture may be the book cover for one of Maryellen's books. The outfit she is wearing in the cover is most likely her meet outfit.

Maryellen actually looks like a few MyAG dolls from both the past and present.

    Who is the new Historical?

Lately, the doll world has been very hectic. Tons of things have happened and are going on.
    Like.....

    ~New Retro Our Generation
    ~Rumors on 2015 GOTY

    And of course....

RUMOURS ON THE NEW AMERICAN GIRL HISTORICAL!

These rumors suggest that the new doll will be Historical, named Mary Ellen, and from the 50's.
Personally, I am very excited because...
    A.) I love historicals
B.) The leaked photos of the doll are 100% adorable
C.) The 50's are my FAVORITE time period! I love Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra,
Mickey Mouse Club, Sock hops, Greasers, Drive-ins, Poodle Skirts, etc.

    Who doesn't love the 50's!!!!!!!!

Before I show the pictures, I would like to talk about a few things.

    Polio
Possibly this doll will have Polio.

    Civil Rights Movement
Many people predict the doll's story will involve the Civil Rights Movement
but I do not think so. The Civil Rights Movement was from 1955-1968, which is
mainly in the 60's. If they do have a Civil Rights Movement Doll, she will probably live in the 1960's.
The Issue? Julie Albright, another American Girl is from 1974, roughly 10 years away.
This is a close, so I do not think it will happen. Plus, when I think of the 50's, I picture sock hops,
poodle skirts, drive-ins, etc. I'm not saying a Civil Rights Movement Doll is a bad idea though.
I think she'd be pretty cool if they made one.

    Here she is...

She is adorable. I love how original she is, I do not think I have ever seen a doll like her.
Her collection looks already so cute, and hopefully isn't too expensive. I can
tell she will have a lot of Mary Jane shoes in her collection!

    Overall,
I think I will definitely get Mary Ellen and her outfits. They
are just too cute to pass up.
